Ukhrul HQ celebrates 76th Independence day

As India celebrates the glorious years of Independence all across the country, the Ukhrul District Administration of Manipur also organises the 76th Independence day function successfully at Bakshi Ground, Hungpung today. Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, Shri. Krishna Kumar attended the function as the Chief Guest in the presence of all DLOs, government employees and public.
Parade Commander of the day was Shri. W. Jadumani Singh, SDPO Jessami, Ukhrul. All together 16 contingents including Ex-Servicemen, Manipur Rifles, Manipur Police and both government and private schools participated in the march pass. Gates were constructed from various government departments at different locations in the headquarter. There were five cultural items presentations from Nungbi Khullen Youth Club, Lower Hungpung Cultural Dance Troupe, All Manipur Gorkha Student Association, Ukhrul Unit, Band Party dsiplay and Shri. Thotreiso Keishing who was a reknown actor and singer.
The district administration give out appreciation certificates to as many as 65 employees from different departmemts for the relentless service rendered. Further, various competition taken up during the weeklong celebration under Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav organised by ZEO Ukhrul was given out on this day. It is worth mentioning that one Shri. Marching Wungmahai, Sub- Inspector from Ukhrul Police Department was given award of Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation for 2022 and another Shri. Raimison WS, Infomatic Officer from the department of Information Technology, Ukhrul Headquarter received Chief Minister’s Award for good governance in the individual category for 2021-2022.
Shri. Krishna Kumar, IAS who as a Chief Guest addressed the gathering by recalling the supreme sacrificeses made by our freedom fighters who had laid down their lives for our independence. Every citizen today remember and pay our highest respect and honour who all had brought the nation to a fast developing state this far. He appealed the gathering to be responsible citizen in the nation building. He concluded by saying that if each and everyone of us take our own responsive part and join hands to move forward, Ukhrul will soon become a significant and developed district headquarter.
At the location of the function, stalls from the like Industries, Medical, Forest, Dso, Dswo, Icps and one stop centre were open. After the function a friendly football match between DC team and Police team was held. The district administration hosted a high tea party in the afternoon at DC Bungalow.
