Launching of Nationwide IEC Campaign 2026
Ukhrul formally launched the nationwide Information Education and Communication (IEC) campaign ‘Jan Bhagidaari – Sabse Door, Sabse Pehle’ at the DRDA Training Hall, Mini Secretariat, Ukhrul, marking a renewed push to bring government services closer to remote and underserved communities. The campaign was flagged off by Asish Das, Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul district, in the presence of District Level Officers (DLOs), officials, and staff representing various line departments.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner urged citizens to actively participate and make full use of the numerous welfare opportunities provided by both the Government of India and the State Government. He emphasised that awareness and public participation remain key to ensuring that developmental schemes truly reach intended beneficiaries.
The campaign, scheduled to continue until May 25, aims to strengthen grassroots engagement through extensive field contact programmes, service saturation drives, health outreach initiatives, and livelihood awareness activities. Special attention will be given to extending government benefits to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), ensuring that even the most remote populations are not left behind.
Officials informed that departments will conduct coordinated outreach activities across villages, focusing on enrolment, awareness generation, and delivery of essential services under various flagship schemes. The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to inclusive governance by prioritising regions that remain geographically distant and socially vulnerable. By bringing administrative services directly to communities, the campaign seeks to bridge gaps between policy implementation and public access.
The programme concluded with a collective pledge by district officials to work in coordination for effective implementation of the campaign and to ensure that developmental benefits reach every household in Ukhrul district
